Hilton DoubleTree Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando

We stayed at the Doubletree by Universal Orlando at the Entrance to Universal Studios on our trip last December to Orlando.

We intentionally picked this hotel to be within walking distance of Universal Citywalk. The Universal Orlando Theme Parks including, Universal’s Volcano Bay, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Orlando are all accessible from Citywalk. It was a plus that the hotel with one of the closest walks was a Hilton so we could use points and use our Hilton Diamond status perks.

We had taken a road trip from Pennsylvania to Florida. Our plans were to travel to Tampa after our time in Orlando. So we had quite a bit of stuff along for the ride with us that we were going to need on our trip. So we needed rooms that had plenty of space along with being comfortable. This hotel had everything that we needed for our stay.

We booked 2 connecting rooms for our visit that were Universal View rooms and they were perfect for us.

We traveled with 4 kids ages 6, 12, 15, and 17. All my kids love it when we stay at a Double Tree hotel because of the cookies you get at check-in. Yes, kids are that are easy to please, well at least mine are.

This hotel was perfect for our time in Orlando Florida. It included our days at Universal, one day at Walt Disney World, and a trip to Seaworld Orlando. It was easy to walk to Universal and the drives to Disney and Seaworld were also easy.

Why the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando is Great for Families

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was super nice and the hotel is clean. The beds were comfortable, the room had plenty of space. I like to book us 2 connecting rooms when possible because I feel like we have more space, but they do have suite options.

Spacious rooms. Traveling as a family I do not want a room where I feel like we are on top of each other. We split our family up between the 2 rooms. Our 2 older kids slept in one room and the younger 2 slept in the room with my husband and me. There was plenty of space for our stuff and all 4 of us.

Cookies at Check-in. If you have never stayed at a Hilton DoubleTree a special treat at check-in is a freshly baked cookie. You can also ask for a cookie at any point during your stay and chances are they will give you one.

Pool. For us, traveling with kids one of the must-have things at a hotel is a pool. There is an outdoor pool that is perfect for the kids to swim in.

On-Site Restaurant. We tried the on-site restaurant that is located in the lobby. It was easy to order, our food was made quickly. We then took the food back to our room and eat. You can eat at either the American Grill or Sunshine Cafe.

On-Site Starbucks. Being able to quickly grab a drink from Starbucks made my life easier in the mornings when we were heading out for the day.

Walking Distance to Popular attractions. This hotel is within walking distance of Universal Studios Florida theme parks and Citywalk which is easily doable with kids.
